How to choose a size

Most of WooStore's items are directly imported from Korean brands. Korean sizing standards differ from brand to brand and do not always match the common Japanese S, M, L sizes. The best way to avoid disappointment is to choose based on the "actual measurements" listed on the product page, rather than the stated size.

1. First, check the actual measurements.

Each product page's "Size Information" section lists actual measurements in centimeters. These figures are measured "flat". Flat measurement means the item is laid flat on the floor or a table and measured from above.

Therefore, waist and hip measurements are not the circumference of the body, but the width from one side to the other. When comparing with your own body measurements, consider roughly doubling the actual measurement (if the waist has an elastic band, there will be even more leeway for stretching).

*Measurements are taken by hand, so there may be an error of 1-3cm depending on how they are measured.

2. The most reliable method is to compare with clothes you own.

If you're unsure about sizing, lay flat an item of clothing you already own that you feel "fits just right" and measure the same sections with a tape measure. By comparing those measurements with the actual measurements on the product page, you can get a fairly accurate idea of how the item will fit when it arrives.

This method is more reliable than trying to estimate from your height and weight.

3. What do the measurements refer to?

Pants/Skirts

  • Waist … Width around the waist (flat measurement, not circumference)
  • Hip … Width of the widest part above the crotch seam
  • Front Rise … Length from the waist to the crotch seam. A larger value here means a higher waist position and a more relaxed fit.
  • Inseam … Length from the crotch seam to the hem. This measurement determines the overall length.
  • Thigh Width … Width of the thigh area. This indicates whether the silhouette is wide.
  • Hem Width … Opening of the hem. A larger value indicates a wider silhouette.
  • Total Length … Total length from waist to hem. If you're unsure about length, start by looking here.

Tops/Outerwear

  • Length … Length from the shoulder seam to the hem.
  • Shoulder Width … Width between the left and right shoulder points. For drop-shoulder designs, it will fall below the shoulder.
  • Body Width … Width from armpit to armpit (flat measurement, not circumference).
  • Sleeve Length … Length from the shoulder point to the cuff.

4. How to interpret size notations

FREESIZE / One Size

This is the most common notation for items we carry. It doesn't mean "fits everyone," but rather that the brand offers only one size for that item. While most are made with a relaxed fit, the actual dimensions vary greatly from product to product. For FREESIZE items, we highly recommend checking the actual measurements.

S / M / L / XL

These are Korean standard notations. Even for the same "M," dimensions can vary by brand, so please check the actual measurements instead of relying solely on the notation.

Notations with height, such as M (160cm-170cm)

This indicates the wearer's height that the brand assumes. While useful as a guide, the optimal size will vary depending on body type. For those whose height is on the border (e.g., 170cm), choose the larger size if you prefer a relaxed fit, and the smaller size if you prefer a neat fit.

Numeric notations like 50 / 52

These notations are used for Korean bottoms, where 50 generally corresponds to M and 52 to L. We recommend checking the actual measurements for these as well.

Shoes

Sizes are expressed in cm, from 23.0cm to 28.5cm. Please choose based on your actual foot length.

5. Also refer to model's wearing size

For some products, we list the model's height and wearing size, such as "Model Spec: 174cm / Wears size M". If your height is similar, the appearance in the photo can serve as a direct reference.

6. If you're unsure, please consult us before purchasing.
