Tendo Mokko, which has its headquarters and factory in Tendo City, Yamagata Prefecture, has recognized the value of design in furniture since shortly after the war, and has collaborated with many of Japan's leading architects and designers, including Kenzo Tange, Isamu Kenmochi, and Sori Yanagi.
The special exhibition "SHAPE OF TENDO - Giving Shape to Things" will be held at The Stage on the first floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku for a limited time, showcasing furniture made by four creators that incorporates their individual thoughts and wishes.
The four people participating in the exhibition are Hirofumi Kiyonaga (creative director), Ichiro Yamaguchi (musician) from Sakanaction , Kashiyuka (musician) from Perfume , and Junko Kato (dentist and creative director). All of them are creators who have a strong passion for Tendo Mokko.

"Putter Rack Limited Edition by Hirofumi Kiyonaga" ¥198,000

Hirofumi Kiyonaga (Creative Director)
Kiyonaga, who launched SOPH. in 1998 and is currently the creative director of the J.League, is addicted to golf. So, with the theme of "what I want but don't have in the world," he decided to create a highly designed place to putter. Using molded plywood, which is Tendo Mokko's specialty, he completed a streamlined "putter rack."

"YI Stool Limited Edition by Ichiro Yamaguchi" ¥198,000 (leather). Also available in canvas (¥149,600).

Ichiro Yamaguchi (musician)
Sakanaction's Ichiro Yamaguchi is known as an avid furniture lover. He has recently become fascinated with Japanese modern furniture, and created the "YI Stool" using a technique called "Komaire" established by Tendo Mokko in the 1950s.

"Side Table Limited Edition by KASHIYUKA" ¥297,000

Kashiyuka (musician)
While Kashiyuka is active as a member of Perfume, she also has a strong interest in traditional crafts and manufacturing sites. The "Rattan Side Table ," which was the subject of this collaboration, realizes two concepts: "a place for my beloved cat, Lyon-kun," and "a visually light table with a natural texture." The rattan in the basket weave creates a closed space inside, while also creating a visually open feel. The simple design makes this a table that fits in with a variety of lifestyles.

"Low Seat Chair Limited Edition by Junko Kato" ¥231,000 "Medium Seat Chair Limited Edition by Junko Kato" ¥242,000 "Small Chair Limited Edition by Junko Kato" ¥225,500

Junko Kato (Dentist and Creative Director)
Kato, who is a dentist, model, and creative director with a deep knowledge of interior design and furniture, has updated the world of Junzo Sakakura, a master of modernism, by using ebony wood with irregular black and reddish brown stripes for the frame of a chair designed by Sakakura.
